Rightly concentrating on the female characters of Tecmo's Dead or Alive series of video game Beat 'em ups, Kaiyodo and Takara have produced the finest trading card figures I've ever seen to date. Each figure is packaged in unmarked packages, in other words you won't know what figure you have until you open it! I will cover each girl in detail, click on her thumbnail for a specific review.

Generally speaking, each figure is around 4 inches tall, and has (at my count) 19 points of articulation. Kasumi and Ayane actually have more, Ayane has 3 points in her bow, and Kasumi has articulated hair! Each comes with a host of accessories, both character specific as well as general. I'll cover individual parts in each review. Every character comes with a base and stand parts. The base unit itself has two pegs which the figure can attach to. A pole and twist tie are also included as part of the stand, the pole can also attach to the base pegs.

The twist tie confused me for a second, until I realised that it could loop in a hole in the pole, and the tie can be manipulated in various ways for as many poses as you want! No restrictions here, want jumps? Just fiddle the tie until it can hold your character! Splendid!
