Batman Begins Micro Scalextric set Contents: Batmobile, GCPD car, track, playmat, self assembly tunnel, spare brushes, 2 controllers, a/c adaptor, Instruction manual

Remember me mentioning a Micro Scalextric track? This is where it came from. This Tumbler came packed with a Micro track and a GCPD car. This little Batmobile is very similar to its larger brother, while smaller there is only a slight loss of detail. The only problem with this Tumbler, is the compactness of the car itself. This little tumbler's proportions are slightly wrong, it seems to be slightly too tall. When its shooting around the track at speed its not noticable, but it does show up under scrutiny.

Because of the 12V motor and the drive mechanism being crammed into the body (which is smaller than a normal micro Scalextric car) the metal brushes on the underside prevent the front wheels from touching the track. This means the car runs quite roughly on track joints, and is appreciably slower than the Police car it comes with. It also means the full weight (compounded by the neodynium stabiliser magnets) is on those brushes, so they're going to wear out very quickly.

You can always buy spares, but even so, its an issue to be aware of. For £30 you get the whole set, a fine purchase that's sure to keep people/kids amused. I should take pictures of the whole set, I guess that will come later!
